It has come to our attention that NYCC schools are being targeted as part of an email scam. The email purports to be from HM Revenue and Customs and indicates that the recipient is entitled to a tax refund of 998.50 GBP. Should you receive such an email, please do not use the link attached to the email. HMRC are aware of this scam and have stated that they do not contact customers via email to inform them of tax refunds. For information the main text of the email is printed below:

We are collecting schools views on the music service and possible future developments. We would very much like your input. This will be used to feedback to the DCSF through our SEF and as a way of shaping the service to fit schools needs. I very much hope you can find time to respond by downloading the form and sending a paper copy back or by filling it in online and emailing to countyhall.music@northyorks.gov.uk The closing date for returns is 31st March. A further series of half-day training presentations have been developed by North Yorkshire County Council in conjunction with Les Asquith to explain the Technical Fire Safety Audits that are being carried out across all our properties. ‘The View From My Window’ is a competition for all schools in North Yorkshire. Your school can be part of a project to create a giant mosaic image of North Yorkshire using photographs taken by your pupils.
